Here are some of the most common questions Indacas users want to know.How long does it take to set a study up?
Create your study, pick a tier and you can be collecting data in minutes. Every tier starts with a free trial and no payment card, and there is no implementation project or setup fee.
Is Indacas open to people outside of Newcastle University?
Yes, everyone is welcome to use Indacas.
Can we host the system on our own servers?
Indacas is UK hosted and all data is encrypted and auditable. It's not possible to run your own localised system.
Can we transfer our existing data?
Yes, please get in touch with us if you need to transfer legacy data into your Indacas study.
Is this platform only for studies with participants?
No, our studies have specifically been designed to be extremely robust and customisable so that any data collection project can make use of them.
Where is data stored?
All data is stored in the UK. In the future all data will be stored in the country of residence of the study.
Is Indacas GDPR compliant?
Yes. Indacas is built around UK GDPR requirements. Studies must declare a lawful basis for processing, and our consent flows capture and version every consent decision so you have a full audit trail. Participants can withdraw consent and request deletion of their data at any time, and study custodians can fulfil subject access and erasure requests directly from the platform.
Can we export our data?
Yes. Study custodians can export all of their study data to CSV at any time, including while a study is dormant.
Can participants manage their own data?
Yes. Participants have a dashboard for each study they are enrolled in, where they can view and update their own records, revoke consent, and request that their data be deleted. Consent and access are managed on a study-by-study basis, so a participant can stay active in one study while withdrawing from another.
Can studies access participant data from other studies?
No, a study can only see what you provide them. There is no way for a different study you join to access that other studies data.
How will we be charged?
Studies will be charged for monthly across three tiers which vary in price based on usage and features.
What happens when we stop paying for a study?
All of your data will still be accessible and exportable by the designated custodian. However, you will be restricted from other actions on the data within the study until it's made active again.
