Why is it cheaper?

Our mission is to support research regardless of budgets. Academic and non-profit research funding might not always be able to stretch to enterprise software and we want to ensure this type of research isn't priced out of proper tools. We also want to ensure this type of research is done compliantly, which small teams could struggle with alone. There's only one rule - it has to be genuinely academic or non-profit. Using an education discount for commercial work is against our Terms & Conditions. Reduced rates are given because the value from this type of research is supposed to be shared, not extracted. Commercial research does not often fall into this category.
