Stored in the UK Your data is encrypted and held on UK servers. Every access to it is recorded in an audit trail the study team cannot edit.
Consent, not small print You are asked to consent before anything is collected, and every consent decision you make is recorded and versioned so you can see exactly what you agreed to.
One study at a time Studies cannot see each other's data. Joining one study never exposes you to another, even on the same platform.

What you control

Every study you join gets its own dashboard. From it you can see the information the study holds about you, update your own records, and check which consents you have given. You can withdraw your consent or ask for your data to be deleted whenever you want — you do not have to give a reason, and you do not have to email anyone to do it. Because consent is handled per study, you can leave one study and stay in another without affecting either.

How taking part works

  1. 1
You get an invite. The research team sends you a link, or you find their study and ask to join. Indacas never reaches out to people to recruit them.
  2. 2
You read and give consent. Before any data is collected you see what the study is for, what it will collect and how long it keeps it. If you are not happy, you stop here.
  3. 3
You answer the study's questions. Surveys save as you go, so you can close the tab and come back later without losing your answers. Some studies run over months or years and will ask you again periodically.
  4. 4
You stay in control after that. Your dashboard stays available. Change your answers, withdraw, or request deletion at any point.

Common questions

Who can see what I submit?
Only the team running the study you joined, and only the people on that team the study admins have given access to. Indacas staff do not browse study data. Other studies cannot see it at all.
Can I change my mind after consenting?
Yes. You can withdraw consent at any time from the study's dashboard, and you can ask for your data to be deleted. Withdrawing from one study does not affect any other study you are part of.
Do I have to pay anything?
No. Participants never pay to take part. Research teams pay for the platform.
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored in the UK. Indacas is built around UK GDPR requirements, and every study must declare a lawful basis for processing your data before it can collect anything.
I have a question about the study itself.
Contact the research team running it — they are responsible for the study, its questions and its findings. Their contact details are on the study's page. We can only help with the platform itself.
