Plans and pricing explained

This article explains what each kind of plan covers. The amounts are on the pricing page.

Indacas has three kinds of plan, and one rule ties them together: a survey is governed by the plan of whatever owns it. A survey inside a study follows the study’s plan, a survey owned by an organisation follows the organisation’s plan, and a survey you own personally follows your own survey plan.

Study plans are about records and responses

A study’s plan sets two caps for the life of the study:

  • Records. Every participant and every member holds one, so this is the data cap.
  • Responses. A lifetime total across all the study’s surveys. Studies collect in waves, so there is no monthly clock.

It also sets how many surveys and admins the study can have. The higher tier adds automatic distribution rules, field analysis with outlier detection and priority support. Everything else, including every question type, logic, consent versioning, exports, the DPIA and two-factor authentication, is on every tier.

Survey plans are about volume per period

The surveys you own personally run on your survey plan:

  • Free: three active surveys and 100 responses a month, on your own.
  • Standard: unlimited surveys, 1,000 responses a month, collaborators, email distribution and completion redirects.
  • Advanced: the same with 5,000 responses a month.

Responses are pooled across all your surveys and counted per billing period. Pay yearly and you get one pool for the whole year, sized at fifteen months’ worth, so a lumpy year never needs a top-up.

Paid survey plans have no trial: Free is the trial. They charge from day one and can be cancelled any time.

Organisation plans are about people

An organisation groups people, surveys and studies under one roof and is free to create. Its paid plan is priced per seat, and seats are simply members: when someone joins, a seat is added; when they leave, it goes.

The paid organisation plan brings unlimited surveys, a response pool that grows with every seat, email distribution, and the organisation features: a private page, a verified badge, role-based access and teams. Surveys the organisation owns can be shared with a team or with everyone in it, without inviting people one by one.

Response credits

When a paid survey or organisation plan uses up its allowance for the period, collection keeps going into a small grace band, then stops. Rather than change plan for one busy month you can buy a response pack. Credits never expire and are only used once the allowance and grace are spent. You can also turn on automatic top-ups so a pack is bought for you when the balance runs out.

Nothing you have collected is ever hidden or removed when a plan ends or lapses. New responses pause; existing ones stay readable and exportable.

Free trials

Studies and paid organisation plans start on a free trial with no payment card required. Add a card from the Billing page before the trial ends to keep the plan; without one the plan stops and the study or organisation keeps its data.

Yearly billing

Every paid plan can be billed yearly at a discount against monthly.

The academic and non-profit discount

Indacas Education gives verified academic and non-profit researchers half-price study and organisation plans at every tier. Enrolment is automatic when you register with your institution email; mark a study or organisation as academic or non-profit and the discounted price applies. Survey plans are the same price for everyone.

The one condition is that the work is genuinely academic or non-profit. Using the discount for commercial research is against our terms.
